bq24314和bq24316器件是高度集成的电路，旨在为锂离子电池提供充电电路故障保护。 IC持续监控输入电压，输入电流和电池电压。在输入过压情况下，IC通过关闭内部开关立即切断充电电路的电源。在过流情况下，它将系统电流限制在阈值，如果过电流持续，则在消隐期后关闭通过元件。此外，IC还监控其自身的芯片温度，如果温度过高则关闭。输入过流阈值是用户可编程的。
IC可以由处理器控制，还可以向主机提供有关故障状态的状态信息。
